I'm completing a Master's of Arts in Planning at UBC's School of Community and Regional Planning. I have a strong interest in food and energy self-reliance. My particular interests lie in bioregional responses to the challenges posed by peak oil and climate change in the coming century.
With an eye to local responses, I'm running for Vancouver City Council in the upcoming November elections, as an independent. Municipal politics are a field where significant responses to energy and climate issues can be made. I feel that local and regional responses offer the most promise for significant action, while our provincial and federal governments stall and debate.
