Transition Towns Movement
Transition Towns (TT) was initiated over four years ago in Totnes, U.K. so citizens could take action and adapt their lives to peak oil and climate change. The movement has spread very quickly around the globe. After 4 years of learning in Totnes, the founders and others formed Transition UK as a network to support all the TT initiatives that were springing up. They also developed training workshops to share their lessons and experiences more broadly. Peterborough, Guelph and Dundas, Ontario and Victoria and Nelson, BC are already designated Transition Towns. Village Vancouver has applied to become a Transition Town initiative.
