Chris Martenson’s short video on peak oil is probably the best, most thorough and concise explanation of peak oil I have seen posted on the web. A must see to anyone new to the subject!

Saw this one linked through comments on TOD and was impressed with its simplicity and clear presentation. The numbers speak for themselves.
Here’s a little factoid that sure to turn a few heads;
The largest oil field in the world is Ghawar in KSA (Kingdom of Saudia Arabia). The second largest is Mexico’s Cantrell located in the Gulf of Mexico; and, the production decline of this field fell 36% from 2007 to 2008 with secondary and tertiary extraction methods being used.
Still not impressed? By approximately 2015 the world is going to have to find the equivalent of one Saudi Arabia per year (9 million barrels per day) to keep up with production declines.
